A careless & arguably reckless driver put on a masterclass on endangering pedestrians and other traffic, culminating in an accident, their insurance (if they have it) will have a headache over.
Suffolk driver and Redditor /u/Epifrank shared some downright headshaking dashcam footage from earlier this week (May 1, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCara subreddit showing an incompetent driver make several big mistakes, culminating in him rear-ending a truck.
Check out his dashcam footage and Reddit thread embedded below.
[OC] Ignoring Stop Signs, Rear-Ending People
byu/Epifrank inIdiotsInCars
The incident started in a neighborhood at the intersection of Prices Fork Blvd and Moreland St. and continued until they crashed at the intersection of Hampton Roads Parkway and College Dr. (Exact locations on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam footage shows, OP is driving along Prices Fork Blvd when, before coming to the intersection with Moreland St, he notices a driver in a black Acura TLX blow through a stop sign.
He happens to follow the TLX out of the neighborhood and onto Hampton Roads Parkway when, for some odd reason, probably not paying attention, the TLX driver rear-ends a truck waiting to turn onto College Dr.
We see the driver in the TLX come out to talk to the driver in the truck as he comes out to inspect the damage.
“LOL. Man, that is one horrible driver,” the top comment from /u/MeadowGhostTV reads.
“This is what happens when you get complacent as a driver. It starts by cutting corners or not signaling lane changes,” /u/double_expressho pointed out.
“Then you figure there are rarely pedestrians, so you don’t have to stop before crosswalks and check for them. You stop turning your head to check your blind spots. Then you graduate to running stop signs and red lights. You slowly become more and more of a hazard to those around you.”
“There was no reason to stop before even getting to the yield sign, but this is why we leave following distances and pay attention to the cars in front of us. I hope you shared the video with the drivers,” /u/rawesome99 added.
In Virginia, violators who run stop signs are subject to an $81 fine before all the fees and three points on their record.
