Camera angles show the driver in a green Ford Ranger in the far right lane making a left turn in front of a Maine police officer.
Central Maine resident and Redditor /u/SuckingB**eastWound shared headshaking security camera footage from earlier last month (April 24, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing an idiot driver decide it’s a good idea to make a left turn from the right lane.
He would’ve gotten away with it had he not done it right in the path of a Maine police officer.
Check out his boneheaded move embedded from Reddit below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened at the intersection of US-201 (Madison Ave) and Spring St. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
In the first POV, we can see a driver in a green Ford Ranger with a white camper top in the right lane.
Then, in the next birds eye view, we see the driver in the Ranger suddenly slow, in damp conditions, mind you, and abruptly turn left towards Spring St.
He almost slams into a Maine Police officer who happened to be in the lane next to him at the same time.
The police officer puts on his flashing blues and, in a case of instant justice, lets the Ford Ranger driver turn onto Spring St. before presumably citing them accordingly.
“I can’t imagine turning left from the right lane without even looking to see if there’s another car there. The fact it was a cop makes it hilarious. Silver lining is a cop probably has better training behind the wheel, which maybe helped avoid a collision,” the top comment from /u/TheDukeofCanCity reads.
“Literally LOL at this one. Talk about zero situational awareness,” /u/AppropriateAd3055 added.
“Excellent convenient cop!,” /u/theyrejustelves aptly put it.
