Driver failed to yield to traffic with the right of way and was fined accordingly.
Downtown Biloxi commuter and Redditor /u/Mediocre_Shine_1759 shared a case of instant karma from earlier this February (Feb 2, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subeddit showing a driver cutting him off at this busy intersection, only to immeaditly get pulled over by Mississippi’s finest.
Check out the case of Convenient Cop below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened at the intersection of Caillavet St. and Division Street in Downtown Biloxi, across from Quality Poultry & Seafood (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is driving along Caillavet in Lane #1 when, upon approaching the aforementioned intersection, he’s suddenly cut off by this driver in a Nissan Titan.
While Mississippi allows right on red, you have to come to a complete stop and yield to traffic with the right of way accordingly.
If failing to yield wasn’t bad enough, the driver in the Titan swung wide into OP’s lane to do it.
OP is able to slow in time, narrowly avoiding what would’ve been one expensive, not to mention potentially injurious collision.
Thankfully, OP’s dashcam wasn’t the only one that saw it, as a Biloxi PD officer saw it too and immediately put on their Police Interceptor’s blues and tunes to pull the offending driver over.
“This happened to me one morning back in February. I was doing no more than 30 MPH in a 35 MPH zone when this truck suddenly turned right on red and immediately went into the far left lane, pulling out in front of me! Thankfully I had just installed new front brake pads, rotors, and calipers and new rear brake shoes, drums, and hardware a few days before bc I had to slam on my brakes to prevent myself from rear ending or even doing a pit maneuver on them!,” most of OP’s caption reads.
“White van with trailer running a hard red when your light was already green is icing on the cake,” /u/MydnightWN pointed out.
“Looks like the actual police to me,” /u/RedBaron180 aptly put it.
“Seriously, that chucklehead did NOT see two marked police cars to his left when he made that wide-a** turn?! Good braking OP,” the top comment from /u/11B-33T reads.
In Mississippi, failure to yield the right of way bags you a fine between $350-750 before all the fees.
