This idiot’s impatience almost caused a multi-vehicle collision.

Carlisle commuter and Redditor /u/ChapinScott32 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in June (June 23, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing an impatient driver in a work truck towing a trailer almost cause a head-on collision by going against traffic to get around a signaling, turning van.

Check out his dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened in the 7000 block of Wertzille Rd. in New Kingston just before the intersection with Deer Ln (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As OP’s dashcam footage shows, he’s driving along a stretch of PA-944, aka Wertzville with a 45 MPH speed limit.

OP rounds a slight bend and comes across a driver in a work van stopped on the other side of the road with two work trucks stopped behind it.

The work van is signaling and turning into a driveway.

The move would’ve been to be patient and wait for traffic coming the other way to clear so the work van could turn, and everyone following could continue on their way.

But no, these work truck drivers were impatient.

The one pulling a trailer swings wide into opposing traffic to get around the turning work van, only to almost cause a head-on collision with an oncoming car.

Seeing the oncoming car, the driver in the work truck towing a trailer veers out of the way, and just in time, as the opposing vehicle nearly comes to a stop to avoid a collision.

With traffic slowed, the van finally makes its turn, and everyone thankfully gets out of the situation unscathed.

“The truck with a trailer is a complete idiot! Who are the other two idiots, though?,” the top comment from /u/yodas_sidekick reads.

“I think the van braked too fast, and then the two behind him were tailing him too close, and then they swerved when they were too close. Quite frankly, I am confused about this whole situation. I’m still not too sure what happened,” OP replied.

“I’d say only 2 idiots, the pickup truck and the pickup truck with the trailer. The pickup truck tried to pass on the right even though there was no road to pass on the right, and the trailer truck tried to pass on the left for some reason,” /u/Shewy92 added.

In these situations where it seems like forever for cars in front of you to make a move because of constraints like two-lane roads, patience goes a long way and ensures everyone involved gets home safe and sound.

In Pennsylvania, driving on the wrong side of the road is a summary offence; violators are subject to a 4-point fine on their driving record.
