The pickup driver can be seen slowly drifting into the side of a semi truck’s trailer, damaging his truck to the tune of thousands.

I-35 commuter and Redditor /u/Cozzemostello48 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier last week (June 24, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver in a truck in the fast lane slowly drifting into the side of a semi trailer, causing thousands of damage to his vehicle in the process.

Check out the dashcam video below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened on the 35 Westbound just next to Exit 39 onto Rendon-Crowley Rd/ McAllister Rd (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is following a driver in a black pickup that looks a lot like a newer Toyota Tundra.

Then, we see the Tundra slowly drift towards Lane #2 and into the side of a semi trailer, taking out their mirror, likely causing thousands in damage to their front fender, and definitely leaving a mark on the semi truck’s trailer, too.

A hit-and-run.

Did the offending driver stop?

No, of course not.

“He did not (stop),” OP clarified.

“He kept going for a few more miles until I had to exit. I did grab the semi truck company and sent the footage to them. Not sure if it actually did any damage, but I figured it’s better to have that footage than not.”

“Trucker probably didn’t even notice the hit,” one of the top comments from /u/HynesKetchip reads, to which, thankfully, OP relayed the video to the trucking company as, when damage is likely found, the driver will be blamed.

“It’s so crazy how 20 years ago, everyone knew this guy was drunk. Now, everyone knows this guy’s face was in his phone,” /u/Skolrageous added.

In Texas, a hit and run with damage over $200 to the other vehicle, likely the case here, is a Class B misdemeanor punishable by up to a $2,000 fine before all the fees and up to 180 days in jail.
