While the box truck driver could’ve been nicer, they had the right of way and no obligation to let the driver in the lawn care truck merge in front of them.
Turnpike commuter and Redditor /u/UnidentifiedTron shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in June (June 19, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver in a lawn care services truck towing a trailer failing to merge correctly at a merge point, causing them to drive on the emergency breakdown lane.
And, if their Google Reviews are any indication of how good their drivers are, this company may want to give their drivers a refresher on the basic rules of the road.
Check out their dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
Two idiots. One zipper merge. [oc]

The incident happened on the Florida Turnpike at a point where three lanes turn into two (exact location on Google Maps linked here, and screenshot of the area provided below.)
As the dashcam and screenshot above show, traffic’s reached a point where, once lane markings and the merge warning end, what was once three lanes now is two.
As such, traffic not already in the lane to be merged into must yield to traffic already in that lane.
“In Florida, drivers in the destination lane have the right of way, and merging drivers must yield.” (Source.)
The driver in the box truck, with the obnoxiously bright daytime running light bar, is already in the lane at this point, regardless of the other idiot drivers who should be merging behind him zooming by.
We then see our idiot in a ProGreen Services LLC lawn care truck pull up behind OP and in front of the driver in the box truck when, as mentioned, he should’ve merged behind the box truck.
Regardless of whether the driver in the Isuzu Box Truck knew the law, he wasn’t about to let the driver in the lawn care truck pull in front of him, nor did he have any obligation to.
The driver in the box truck stays the course and maintains his lane despite the driver in the lawn care truck almost, at one point, sideswiping him.
With nowhere to go and already in the breakdown lane, the driver in the lawn care truck continues in the breakdown lane.
This is not the first time they’ve been seen driving in disregard to basic traffic rules, as their Google Reviews call their drivers out twice for poor driving technique.
“When the lane markings end, the merge is over, and it’s only one lane. You can’t just drive past people because you can still fit 2 cars wide,” the second top comment from /u/DanByer correctly states.
“Just leave your damn ego at home people. Nothing good can come of this behavior,” /u/TheW83 suggested.
“Exactly. I felt like a sitting duck. Once I saw pick up boy smack the side of the box truck I just knew I was gonna get rear-ended or side-swiped with the trailer. Luckily, it opened up in front of me, so he took the shoulder around,” OP replied.
In New York, violators who fail to yield the right of way are subject to a fine up to $450, depending on whether you’re a repeat offender, and three points on your record for each instance.
