It certainly looked like this driver had every intention to make the insane move of making a right turn from a left-turn-only lane.

Butler County driver and Redditor /u/Amiar00 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier last week (Nov 9, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing the insane move this driver did, making a right turn from a left turn-only lane.

Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

As mentioned, the incident happened at the intersection of Princeton Rd. and Winford Ave. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is lined up behind this driver in a RAM 1500 pulling a utility trailer in on Winford in a left-turn-only lane.

They get the green arrow and begin to turn.

Suddenly, the driver in the Ram 1500 pulls an UNO Reverse and, instead of going left, actually turns right while opposing traffic turns right.

Thankfully, this careless driver had the brains to time it so as not to crash.

Regardless, in Ohio, making a right turn from a left-turn-only lane violates Ohio Revised Code 4511.36, which requires drivers to turn from the proper lane and follow lane markings or signs.

“We need a lot more convenient cops these days. People increasingly just do whatever they want out there,” the top comment from /u/HobbesNJ reads.

“The ol’ left lane right turn bypass trick. Gets ’em every time,” /u/TheW83 humoursly adds.

It’s becoming more and more common. Somehow,” /u/ragby confirms.

In Ohio, a conviction for an improper turn under Ohio Revised Code §4511.36 typically carries 2 points on your driver’s license. (Law Office of C.F. Cowman, P.L.L.C.) The fine for a first‑time minor misdemeanor offense is up to $150, though it can increase (up to $250 or $500) in repeat‑offender scenarios. (Law Office of C.F. Cowman, P.L.L.C.)
