A dumpster fire of bad driving played out at the 176th St. and Meridian E intersection.
Pierce County commuter and Redditor /u/iniquite shared headshaking dashcam footage from near Puyallup, WA, from earlier this month at the tail end of November (Nov 27, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a semi truck driver hauling cars absolutely botch this turn, making a dangerous situation for cars with the right of way.
It didn’t help that there were a couple of red light runners, too.

I guess we’re just making it up as we go now. [oc]

As mentioned, the incident happened at the intersection of 176th and Meridian (Exact location on Google Maps linked here. )
I’ve included a screenshot of the intersection below. As a reference, the car hauler is the outside of the two left turn lanes highlighted with the red square.
As you can see, this is a fairly busy intersection with multiple lanes.
As the dashcam shows, cars turning to OP’s right get the green light.
In the outside turn lane is our semi car hauler in red. It’s worth noting that they are in the correct turn lane to maximize their turning radius.
Their green light, however, was super short, and by the time they were supposed to stop, the car hauler was already almost halfway into the intersection.
“… The truck is in a double left-turn lane and should have gone at the beginning of the video when the other lane was. For some reason, he just stopped. When the white truck next to him stopped, their light turned red. It’s 8 lanes wide, he had plenty of room for his turn, especially in the outside lane,” OP clarified in the comments.
“This is a poorly programmed stoplight,” /u/Mechagodzilla_3 commented.
“The truck wasn’t loaded correctly, and he couldn’t look up and see the light. Still his fault for driving like that,” /u/winpickles4life pointed out.
Traffic to the left going straight and turning gets the green light, and then, soon after, OP’s lanes do too.
However, with turners continuing to turn despite having the red light and the semi jutting out into the intersection, OP and traffic next to and behind him find themselves faced with a mess of a situation, not to mention a potentially dangerous one.
OP, however, sends it, momentarily blocking a red light runner, giving them a handful of horn before the red light runner completes their illegal turn.
OP and the rest of the traffic squeak by the stopped semi and, all in all, everyone avoids what could’ve resulted in a messy accident or two.
OP, don’t listen to the pearl clutchers. You did the right thing: you shamed the entitled idiots without causing an accident. That’s a win-win. Letting idiots make up and enforce their own rules only results in more idiocy. We need to inconvenience and shame these people whenever possible to do so safely,” one of the top comments from /u/appa-ate-momo reads.
