The semi truck towing a 16-wheel trailer showed no signs of slowing as it rolled through this S Nevada Ave intersection.
Colorado Springs commuter and Redditor /u/the_man_of_reddit_ shared shocking dashcam footage from earlier last week (Dec 18, 2025) to the /r/Dashcam subreddit, showing a semi-truck driver towing a 16-wheel trailer not paying attention and casually rolling through this busy Nevada Ave intersection.
Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened at the intersection of Brookside St. and S. Nevada Ave/CanAm Highway (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is stopped on Brookline St. waiting for his light to turn green to turn left.
His light finally does, however, OP, as always, takes a beat before going to make sure all cross traffic has passed before proceeding.
“My family has always made fun of me for looking both ways on green,” the first second of his caption reads.
Taking a second to look both ways may have saved his life.
Three seconds after getting the green, a driver in an 18-wheeler doesn’t stop and casually rolls past the limit line and across OP’s direction of travel.
Why they didn’t stop, your guess is as good as mine.
Had OP gone right when his light turned green, he would’ve been t-boned, hard.
“I had an empty flatbed do the exact same thing Saturday night, I stopped at the light, and the trucker blew right by me. My vehicle resembles the one stopping. It’s a perfect recreation,” one of the top comments from /u/Former_Trash_1709 reads.
“Semis out here not giving a damn all over the US lmao. Glad we’re both ok, those collisions are no joke in our cars,” OP replied.
“Looks like he was distracted, tried to slow/stop, but immediately decided to roll through as he wasn’t going to get stopped in time?,” /u/Shar*er_brains wondered.
“Yeah, that or he was looking at the next set of lights. This intersection and nearby interchange are absolute dogsh***,” OP replied.
In Colorado, running a red light is a class 2 traffic misdemeanor. The fine is typically $300–$500 and it carries 3 points on your driving record. (Colorado DMV)

Running the yellow/red here in Houston is truly at an “epidemic” stage. There needs to be a severe crackdown.
