Parent who doesn’t understand how right-of-way works brute forces their way onto Olivera Rd.
Concord area driver and Redditor /u/Tiberius_Jim shared frustrating dashcam footage from across this middle school from earlier in January (Jan 28, 2026) showing the moment a rushing parent brute forced their way onto Olivera Rd. without checking for cross traffic first.
Check out the dashcam below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened in the 2300 block of Olivera Rd. as cars exited the drop-off line to Glenbrook Middle School (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is headed eastbound on Olivera well below the posted speed limit.
As he approaches the driveway exit to Glenbrook, drivers are streaming out, turning left onto Olivera.
Less than 50 feet to the driveway’s exit, a driver in a Nissan Sentra can be seen approaching the driveway and rolling across Olivera in complete disregard for OP’s right-of-way.
Both drivers slowed to avoid a t-bone accident.
The Sentra driver is quick to roll down his window to yell something despite being 100 percent in the wrong.
“Bruh slowed down to take the time to be a jerk…,” /u/Vera_Telco pointed out.
“They have an entitlement mindset. They think you’re rude for now slowing down to let them go first, even though you have the right of way. Also, lol at all the morons who’re acting like you’re never allowed to accelerate in a school zone,” /u/appa-ate-momo added.
“They know they’re in the wrong but practice deflection to the best of their (limited) ability,” /u/ttystikk threw in.
In Concord, CA, failing to yield the right of way when exiting a driveway or private property onto a roadway is typically cited under California Vehicle Code § 21804, which is a moving violation that carries a fine (often around ~$238) and ****adds *one point* to your California DMV driving record**. Accumulating points can lead to higher insurance rates and, if you get enough within a set time (e.g., 4 points in 12 months), possible license suspension. (Shouse Law Group)
