This driver in their Cadillac must’ve been blind to miss a full-size Volusia District School Bus barrelling down Biscayne.

Volusia County-area driver and Redditor /u/DaSkyLover shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in April (Apr 8, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver in their Cadillac, asleep behind the wheel, turning onto Biscayne and almost slamming into a big yellow Volusia District School Bus.

Check out the dashcam footage of the near-disastrous miss below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened at the intersectino of Detrick Ave. and Biscayne Blvd (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is headed eastbound down Biscayne and just passed the local American Legion Hall on his right.

As he approaches the aforementioned intersection, a driver in a beige Cadillac can be seen turning in front of him, except they seemed to have missed the important “look right, left, and right again” head check and just turned all willy-nilly, not seeing the gigantic, yellow Volusia District School Bus headed his way.

They seemed to have only looked right, and then left to see if the driver approaching in a white Chevrolet HHR would go straight or turn, but didn’t look right again.

The driver in the Cadillac emergency brakes to avoid t-boning the bus, but just barely.

“Definitely an idiot thinking the bus had a stop sign….,” the top comment from /u/Top-Foundation2851 reads.

“Another intersection where you need to turn right some to see what’s coming so you can turn left. Too lazy to turn right some,” /u/Economy_Release_988 pointed out.

“Idiot has a nice car. More money than brains,” /u/Perfect-Service-7937 added.

Yes, someone did reply to the above, pointing out that a 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe is likely not worth much today.

If a driver in Florida turns and doesn’t see a school bus but brakes in time and avoids contact, it’s typically treated as a careless driving or failure to yield citation rather than anything more serious. That usually carries a fine around $100–$300 (plus court costs) and about 3 points on the driver’s license if a moving violation is issued. It’s generally not considered reckless driving unless the behavior shows clear disregard for safety or results in a crash.
