This careless driver, headed into the nearby Howard Wine & Spirits alcohol shop parking lot, apparently didn’t see this dashcammer heading towards them.

Howard County driver and Redditor /u/NumbMillenial shared a close call from earlier in April (Apr 6, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a clueless driver, turning into an adjacent parking lot, not seeing OP coming in hot towards them, almost t-boning them in the process.

Check out their hare-brained move below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened in the 7000 block of Hearthside Way just before passing the Howard Wine & Spirits shop (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is headed east down Hearthside towards Port Capital Dr.

Just as he’s about to pass the entrance to the aforementioned liquor shop, a driver going straight in the opposite direction just about turns in front of OP.

This causes OP to emergency brake and lay on their horn to avoid getting t-boned by them.

“What the f***!,” OP yells out, understandably, in frustration.

Thankfully, she avoids getting hit, and everyone escapes unscathed.

“Did they just wake up after they started turning?” /u/unexist_already asked.

“They just finished typing and pressed send,” /u/alwayskared replied, implying they were on their phone.

“Hahaha, the song playing in the car is perfection and hits exact right timing,” /u/XiuCyx commented, referencing OP’s thread caption, how the lyrics to “How Deep Is Your Love” by the Bee-Gees, specifically “…living in a world of fools” were playing at that exact moment.

In Maryland, if a driver almost t‑bones someone by turning in front of them and is cited for failing to yield the right of way, it’s usually treated as a minor moving violation with a fine often around $90–$110. That type of failure‑to‑yield infraction typically adds 1 demerit point to the driver’s license (and could be 3 points if it contributed to an actual accident). Accumulating points can lead to warnings, mandatory driver improvement programs, or even license suspension if enough points build up over time. (DMV.ORG)
