This bonehead, erratic driver thought he’d pull a boss move by overtaking this dashcam owner at 90+ MPH on rain-slicked roads, only to spin out.

Waco-area driver and Redditor /u/CGreenTX shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in April (Apr 19, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing the bonehead moment a driver in a Ford pickup decided to overtake and cut off OP at nearly triple-digit speeds on a rain-slick I-35.

Check out the spinout that nearly wrecked this guy’s truck in near solo-wipeout video below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

As mentioned, the incident happened on I-35 just before the 338A exit onto Waco Dr. & Bellmead Rd (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is headed southbound down I-35 N towards the aforementioned exit.

“I was driving at 71MPH in misting rain at nearly 11 PM on the highway,” OP clarified in the comments.

Suddenly, a driver in a white, crew-cab Ford F-150 comes blasting past OP at speeds which OP estimates to be around 90+ MPH.

The pickup driver cuts in front of OP before swerving, losing control, and careening into the exit, off-ramp.

“This truck blew past me and lost control. Looking back at the cameras, they were unstable long before they blew around me. Thankfully, there was plenty of space for me to slow down, and they also didn’t roll or smash into that oncoming wall. :O”

All of this is corroborated by the rest of the dashcam footage, the driver coming within a handful of feet of totaling his precious ride.

“I knew this was Texas before clicking on your response. Waco drivers are something else 🤣,” one of the top comments from /u/CatsNotPeople reads.

“Seems like they got super lucky? Might’ve given the rear a little tap while drifting into the offramp, but looks like they got away ‘clean’ (apart from all the dirt flung up). Really thought they’d flip when sliding through the dirt sideways,” /u/Daan944 added.

“I was confident they were going to flip… Couldn’t believe it when it just kept spinning after going off the road. :O,” OP replied.

In Waco, TX, on I-35, driving 90+ mph in a 75 mph zone would typically result in a speeding ticket (about 15+ mph over), with fines roughly $150–$300 plus insurance increases. If the driver lost control and spun out on wet pavement, it could add a “failure to control speed” or “unsafe speed for conditions” citation, potentially raising it to a more serious moving violation. In rarer cases where the behavior is deemed highly dangerous, it could be upgraded to reckless driving, a Class B misdemeanor.
