Reckless driver tries unhinged move at busy Granada Hills intersection. Busts left from the far right lane.
Los Angeles County-area driver and Redditor /u/Baconator0724 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in June (June 16, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing an unhinged driver making a sudden left turn from the right-most lane at this fairly busy Granada Hills intersection.
Check out the dashcam footage of the incident below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident occurred along Chatsworth St, with the egregious left at the intersection of Hayvenhurst Ave (Exact location on Google Maps linked here).
As the dashcam shows, OP is headed northbound on Chatsworth St in the left lane of this two-lane road.
As he approaches the intersection with Hayvenhurst, a driver in a white RAV-4 in front and to the right of him in the next lane, without warning, busts a left.
No, Chatsworth doesn’t turn into a one-way street there.
OP emergency brakes, sending his dashcam pointing up, and avoids t-boning the goofball.
“Bro, tighten that mount up, or you will also miss your own accident,” the top comment from /u/MarkK_FL reads.
“Never happened! We didn’t see it, so you are a liar. I believe those are the official rules of the interwebs. Sorry,” /u/PakkyT humoursly added.
“How do people like this exist in the world?” /u/DonnyDarkoScutaro wondered.
In California, making a left turn from the far right lane (unless signs or lane markings allow it) is usually cited under Vehicle Code §22100(b) – improper left turn. Typical total bail/fine is about $238 and it carries 1 DMV point if convicted. (leginfo.legislature.ca.gov)
