The dashcam owner couldn’t be more visible; however, this distracted driver didn’t see them approaching and driving in front of them.
Phoenix-area driver and Redditor /u/CaptDistraction shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in June (June 18, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit, showing a distracted teen exiting the shopping plaza at 40th & Greenway, t-boning the side of this Ford Bronco Sport, and causing thousands of dollars in damage in the process.

The incident happened in the 4000 block of E Greenway Rd just before the intersection with N 40th St. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP wife is creeping along, headed westbound on Greenway towards the aforementioned intersection in the rightmost lane.
As she approaches a driveway to an adjacent shopping plaza, a driver in front of them turns left into the parking lot with her, following close behind.
A distracted teen driver exiting at the same time doesn’t stop to allow OP’s wife, with the right of way, to continue forward, ending up t-boning his wife’s crossover.
Thankfully, it was at such a low speed that each vehicle’s respective crash mitigation designs did their job.
However, in the process, it resulted in thousands of dollars in damage to each vehicle, as evidenced by the teen driver’s hood accordioning.
“Phoebe (the Golden Retriever inside) was fine, sore for a day, but thankfully, no one was hurt, and someone learned a valuable lesson that day. The Toyota was totalled, and the Bronco Sport needs most of the suspension/wheel/steering on that corner replaced, but the body was pretty much unharmed,” OP shared in the comments.
