This reckless e-bike rider, without a helmet, thinks red lights don’t apply to them.

Somerset County-area driver and Redditor /u/GENERAT10N_D00M shared headshaking dashcam footage from Bridgewater from earlier in July (July 13, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a reckless e-bike rider blasting through this busy t-intersection, almost causing their own t-bone accident.

Check out how close they were to almost getting yeeted off their bike below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened at the T-intersection of E Main St. and Ramsey St. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is headed northbound on Ramsey towards the aforementioned T-intersection, ready to turn left onto Main.

Facing a solid green, he gets the right of way to go.

Suddenly, a reckless e-bike rider headed west on Main comes blazing past him, shooting right through a red light like it doesn’t apply to them (news flash, it does.)

Thankfully, their trajectories weren’t going to intercept; however, some other driver, it might’ve, setting that e-bike rider up for one gnarly, likely injurious, t-bone accident.

“To be fair, this is a T junction, and turning vehicles should turn into the left lane, so nothing should interfere with first lane…,” /u/the-real-vuk pointed out.

‘The lack of a helmet is a nice touch,” the top comment from /u/Countryboi2m reads.

“They think they’re cars except when it’s convenient to not follow traffic laws,” /u/Kemerd replied.

“I work large loss claims, and the amount of dead and seriously injured e-bike riders we see is staggering. Be careful out there, folks,” /u/FBPizza soberingly, but factually shared.

In Bridgewater, Massachusetts, an e-bike rider who runs a stop sign can be cited the same as a bicyclist, with a fine of up to $20. The violation does not add points to the rider’s driver’s license or affect their safe driver insurance status. (law.justia.com)
