This late-night driver in Fort Worth got a rude awakening thanks to this extremely late red light runner.
Tarrant County-area driver and Redditor /u/Chudpaladin shared head-shaking late-night dashcam footage from earlier in August (Aug 2, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing the shocking moment a driver showed no signs of slowing approaching this intersection, running a red light, and almost T-boning OP hard, as a result.
Check out the eye-opening dashcam footage below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened at the intersectino of John T White Rd. and Randol Mill Rd/ Eastchase Parkway (Exact location on Google Maps located here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is driving east down JT White towards North Arlington.
It’s around 11 P.M., and as he approaches the aforementioned intersection, the bright lights of an approaching car can be seen appearing from the right.
Instead of slowing because OP clearly has the green and right of way, the driver blazes past the intersection, running an extremely late red light.
OP comes within a couple dozen feet of either t-boning the driver or getting t-boned himself, hard.
Thankfully, he times it so he avoids hitting them/getting hit.
“Always remember the Whodini song, Freaks Come Out at Night, whenever driving after the sunset,” one of the few comments from /u/11B-33T reads.
“What are the chances they were looking down at their phone? : shakes Magic 8 Ball: Signs Point to yes,” /u/ferio252 added.
In Fort Worth, TX, running a red light typically results in a fine of around $250 total (including court costs). Texas does not currently assign driver’s license points for a red-light violation, but a conviction can still appear on your driving record and potentially affect insurance rates.
