This dashcam owner thinks this new driver made an honest mistake and quickly corrected.
Portland-area driver and Redditor /u/cookemonsterwave shared amusing dashcam footage from this busy intersection from earlier in September (Sept 14, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit, showing a driver in a new-to-them Toyota Camry changing lanes into opposing traffic (thinking it was a one-way?) before realizing their mistake and doing the reverse of shame.

The incident happened along SW 19th Ave at the intersection with Barbur Blvd (Exact location on Google Maps linked here)
As the dashcam shows, OP is behind a driver in a Toyota Camry in the left-turn lane on 19th.
Traffic going straight, facing a green light, can go.
It seems like the Camry driver is confused about why no one is going and assumes this street is one-way and that he was in the wrong lane.
The Camry driver wrongly changes lanes into the lane to his left with traffic going the other way, but quickly realizes their mistake when a left-turner from Barbur meets them head-on.
Thankfully, the Camry driver realizes their mistake and, without incident, reverses back into their previous location.
“Honestly, this whole situation resolved pretty reasonably. The Toyota made an idiot move and got punished for it. They managed to back into their old spot without f***ing anything else up, which is kinda impressive,” one of the top comments from /u/TunaFishSam reads.
