A driver entering the roundabout on Iowa & 109th nearly T-bones a dashcam owner with the right of way.
Lake County-area driver and Redditor /u/Glittering_Lie8891 shared head-shaking dashcam footage from this Crown Point Roundabout from earlier in October (Oct 5, 2026) to the /r/Dashcam subreddit, showing a drive in the Chevrolet Traverse approaching said roundabout without initially intending to yield, almost ending in OP getting T-boned at full speed.
The incident happened at the intersection of E 109th Ave and Iowa St. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is initially headed northbound on Iowa St.
He enters the roundabout intending to take the second exit to head west on E 109th St.
A driver in a purple Chevrolet Traverse on E 109th approaches the roundabout to OP’s right and, despite a big ol’ yield sign staring her in the face (as seen below), she just about enters the roundabout anyway.

The expression on her face, or lack thereof, hints that her SUV’s Automatic Emergency Braking System might’ve played a vital role in her not T-boning OP.
Thankfully, she stopped in time, avoiding what would’ve been one costly and possibly injurious accident.
“The bus was blocking my view.” /s,” /u/Inviddy sarcastically commented.
‘Scary stuff! A guy almost slammed into me in a similar incident the other day, then he gave me the finger lol,” /u/Danny2Sick shared.
“That’s way too close for comfort,” /u/JesusSaldivar added.
In Indiana, failing to yield at a roundabout is generally a 6-point moving violation. Indiana’s BMV point table lists failure to yield under IC 9-21-8-33 (yield signs) and related right-of-way violations as 6 points. (Indiana Government)
There isn’t one statewide fixed dollar fine; the court/county sets the amount. As an example, Montgomery County lists $175 for other moving violations, before any applicable court costs. (montgomerycounty.in.gov)
Indiana’s roundabout guidance specifically requires drivers entering a roundabout to yield to vehicles already in the roundabout. (Indiana Government)
