This driver pulling out of Walmart had the sense to slow before turning onto Glenwood but didn’t quite yield 100%

Raleigh-area driver and Redditor /u/SnakeJG shared head-shaking dashcam footage from earlier in October (Oct 14, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a lazy, inattentive driver turning onto Glenwood without yielding all the way.

Check out the near t-bone collision below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened in the 6000 block of Glenwood Ave (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is headed NW on Glenwood towards Milbrook.

As he approaches an exit from the Walmart off Glenwood, a driver in a silver Ford Focus can be seen approaching the edge of the street and actually slowing like they’re going to stop, except they don’t.

Instead of yielding, the driver guns it, brute-forcing their way onto Glenwood despite OP approaching.

Despite OP having a bright blue car, thankfully, OP has the presence of mind to swerve out of the way while honking, avoiding what would’ve been a nasty sideswipe, if not a T-bone collision.

“The only casualty was my lunch, which flew off the passenger seat and landed upside down on the floor mat with my emergency brake. I was able to salvage most of it,” OP shared in the comments.

“The other driver looked at me like “Why are you there?” She looked so confused I had to pull this off of my dashcam to make sure I didn’t do something stupid. But nope, I stayed in the same lane the entire time, wasn’t speeding, she just decided the lane I was in was open. Glad she responded to my quick horn.”

In Raleigh, NC, failure to yield right-of-way when pulling onto a road carries a $35 fine plus court costs (typically under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 20-155 or § 20-158.1). The driver also faces 3 North Carolina DMV points if convicted.
