For the second year in a row team 424Contour set out to race at the 24 Hours of LeMons with an actual textable billboard on the trunk of their Ford Contour.

The 24 Hours of LeMons is a race where form truly reigns supreme over function when it comes to the exterior design of a car. The more fun and interactive a design is the more style points you’ll win from the judges. According to the 24 Hours of LeMons official facebook page earlier today (Mar. 26,2017) it looks like team 424Contour is running their infamous textable billboard on the back of their Ford Contour SVT. Check out a couple of the awesome texts that a few people have submitted below.

From the looks of some of the texts scrolling across the LED digital readout it looks like there’s no filter or boundaries on what you can text in. The instructions on how someone can text in a message are pretty simple. Just text in your message to (424) CON-TOUR.

Although, as of this moment, we couldn’t find any recent build pictures or results for this (424) CON-TOUR we did manage to dig up a couple of build photos from when all the magic went down earlier last year. Check out some of those photos below.

Keen eyes will notice that lurking underneath the hood is Ford’s infamous 2.5 L Duratec V6 that found its home in many Ford products. That means this isn’t any regular Contour but a Contour SVT, an excellent choice for the 24 Hours of Lemons, a race where reliability and finishing first remain supreme.

As for the actual fabrication of the LED Signboard, it looks like a good ol’ sawzall took care of where the rear trunk lid would’ve been.

We love seeing interactive technology being implemented in racecars whether it be as complicated as on-board cameras and telemetry to the truly wacky like this Contour SVT that you can text to live.

If we happen to come across a video of what some people actually texted in during race-day we’ll definitely give you, our loyal readers, an update.
