It looks like this bobcat is getting a second chance at life after not only being hit by a car but surviving an hour drive stuck in the car’s grille.

Cats are tough animals in general but this bobcat definitely raises the bar on how tough these wild cats really are. According to WTVR news on their piece on this hardy cat, they dropped earlier this weekend (Nov. 24, 2017) the Richmond Animal Care and Control center got the shock of their life when they heard the amazing story of just how this bobcat was rescued and the ordeal the feline suffered. Check out a photo of the bobcat that’s been making its rounds on twitter below!

According to the Care center’s director, the driver of the car suspected that she hit something on her way to work in the morning. But it wasn’t until she got out of her car at the university that she works at did she see exactly what she hit.

Local police were called to the scene to deal with the situation on Thanksgiving day. They sent a text to the Care Center and the director got there as quick as she could. After a quick sedation and a rough and ready examination did they find out the miracle. Not a bone was broken nor any major injuries could be found except for a minor cut.

“Animal Control is so funny, you never know what you’re going to walk into,” Peters said. “It’s perfect that it was Thanksgiving… because it was just a miracle and we’re so grateful that it ended the way that it did.”

You’ll be glad to know that there are plans to release this bobcat back into the wild once it’s back to normal health and strength, presumably within a couple of days.

This is certainly not the first time cat’s have been caught in compromising situations on the front of a car. It’s an unfortunate fact, but many cats find shelter in a warm engine bay during the cold winter months. The calls to local police department’s with stories of finding cat’s still alive in their engine bay’s is not at all uncommon.
