A huge, sandy dune. Surely the domain of 4×4’s and serious off-roaders only. Not if this less than stellar Civic has anything to say about it.

I’m not entirely sure where this particular sandy dune by the beach is located, but the plates suggest this is somewhere in California. Anyways, when you think large, sandy hills, you usually think of, at the very least, the domain of a bonafide ladder frame truck. Then I came across this video thanks to Vtectuning earlier today (Mar. 28,2018)  that completely changed my mind. This fifth-gen Civic Coupe comes out of completely nowhere and conquers this seemingly unconquerable hill. Check out the video for yourself below.

I knew something was up when the cameraman is strategically standing on the top of the hill. I’m also pretty sure this is a case of, “Here, hold my beer” because when there’s a bunch of trucks just lounging around with a giant sand hill in the background and you’re the only Civic, some shenanigans are definitely about to go down.

At first, it’s hard to make out the Civic in the washed out background of the sunny beach but, like a lot of Civics, you hear it before you even see it. With what sounds like a single cam slammer putting out 90 wheel horsepower at near redline, this No-F***s-given Civic starts its long runup to the bottom of the hill. Momentum’s the name of the game in this hill climb attempt and it’s do or die if you want to make it to the top.

But as it passes with blue tape on its yellow paint and a red Type R badge on the hood, it suddenly becomes clear, this Honda’s a beater.

That doesn’t make the feat that much less enjoyable. In fact, it makes it even more so.

While all those nice shiny trucks are at the bottom of the hill, too scared to make their way to the top, here’s this little Civic showing them all up.

You go Civic!
