There are two days left on this Bring A Trailer auction on this Milano Red 2000 Honda Civic Si and it looks like it’s turning out to be a complete dud.
If you have a Milano Red EM1 Honda Civic Si, you got super excited last week when one sold on Bring A Trailer for a record-breaking $22,750. It looks like this Civic Si owner wanted a piece of that action because according to BAT earlier last week (Mar. 29,2018) they’ve gone and listed another Milano Red 2000 Honda Civic Si except this one’s got eight times the mileage at 83,404 and has a few dings here and there. With two days left on the auction, the highest bidder is just at $5,600 and it’s already shaping up to be a dud of an auction.

There are a few important notes that set last week’s record-breaking Honda Civic Si auction apart from this one. First, there’s obviously the mileage. All things considered, there’s probably very little difference in engine wear and overall wear and tear between a 10,000 mile Honda and an 80,000 mile Honda. They’re Honda’s at the end of the day and you’d be hard-pressed to find any differences between the two comparing stock to stock. But when it comes to auctions, mileage matters.
Then there are the little things. This Honda Civic Si has a set of aftermarket headers on it (which points to some light engine work in its past) has an imperfect body with dings on the doors and hood, and has a repainted hood due to a falling object. In addition, it’s missing a lot of small things like the Honda emblem on the front, a Si badge on the rear, and a dome light cover on the headliner. Negligible at the end of the day, but when it comes to Civic Si’s (and most other auctions) these things matter.
Not to mention, the seller’s added on a set of OEM mudguards, which, in my opinion, take away from the clean look of the Civic Si.
Like I said, there are 48 hours so who knows how high this auction may or may not get.
One thing’s for sure. If you want big bids on your Japanese sport compacts, your car better be close to pristine to garner the larger offers.
