If you see this Toyota Prius bearing down on you in the left lane, you’d better signal and get out of the way!

The M61 Vulcan is one of the most badass guns on planet earth capable of firing a whopping 6,000 rounds in 60 seconds. They’re usually found mounted underneath F18’s and even under the new F22 Raptor, but a Toyota Prius? Ya, someone did that. As per Black Rifle Coffee Company in a video they shared on social media and every one of their social media accounts, they’ve successfully mounted and fired an M61 Vulcan cannon on the back of a fully road legal Toyota Prius.

Check out the awesome video showing this unlikely duo spitting off a couple hundred rounds of 20mm ammo below!

The first Youtube video I posted shows the M61 Vulcan firing in all its glory, the polished up version, but the second video I posted below, although more than 20 minutes long, shows a condensed version of the build process and what it all took to be able to mount a two meter long cannon on a hybrid.

Easier said then done but basically, they cut a large hole in the back of the Prius, fabricated some extremely heavy duty mounts for the cannon including wiring up the cannons own power feed to drive the belt and muzzle rotation, and came up with their own custom belt feed for the ammunition.

The gun was supposedly salvaged from an actual F16 fighter jet which is awesome in its own right. How one acquires a salvaged military cannon is beyond me and I can only assume they got a smoking (pun intended) deal.

A cursory search online reveals that just one 20mm round costs anywhere from $30-$50 depending on where you get your ammo which can get downright pricey if, I don’t know, you’re not the U.S. Government? Hopefully, they found someone willing to sell them a couple hundred rounds for a bulk discount.

Thank You, Black Rifle Coffee Company for making this beautiful mashup of machinery.

Naturally, Y’all should partner up with the guy who put a Hellcat engine in his Prius. Now THAT would be even more epic.
