Elon Musk expressed his thanks to his fellow Tesla cult members by wishing them all a Happy Thanksgiving, as per yooj.

Some CEO’s send out company-wide e-mails, others issue press releases, while other heads of companies simply say nothing to their employees and fans when the holidays come around, but not Elon Musk, oh no. To express his thanks and to extend a warm Thanksgiving greeting to his fans on Twitter earlier today (Nov. 21,2018) Musk sent out a wonderful “Happy Thanksgiving” tweet. Simple enough, right? Wrong! For some reason, he replied to his old tweet he quoted from Verge writer Katie Fernbacher.

Check out the hilarious tweet below.

Oddly enough, the article Katie linked to was a piece of commentary on comments made by American Auto executive Bob Lutz in regards to Tesla and its followers, investors, and, owners.

In the article, Lutz said,

“Tesla supporters are like members of a religious cult,” he said. “Just like Steve Jobs was worshiped at Apple, it’s the same way with Elon Musk … seen as a new visionary god who promises this phantasmagorical future, a utopia of profitability and volume.”

Lutz went on to lambast Musk for not turning a profit, not actually producing anything, and for being somewhat of an automotive failure. That was two years ago and this year Tesla did manage to turn a profit last quarter, increased production of their Tesla Model 3, is on the cusp of unveiling their Tesla Model Y which would bring their lineup to four cars, not to mention the slew of rockets he’s launched and factories he’s opened overseas. To say that Lutz comment has aged would be an understatement.

Nonetheless, it looks like Musk’s sentiments are true and that, in more words or less, he loves his cult members.

Of course, it’s very tongue in cheek and he doesn’t ACTUALLY think his followers are cult members. It’s very much a free market capitalist economy and his “followers” can drive whatever they want. There are, in fact, several cheaper options out there at the moment and coming in the near future!

Anyhow, Happy Thanksgiving you Tesla fans.
