Earlier today Matt Farah’s Million Mile Lexus finally crossed 1,000,000 on its odometer and here’s the video to prove it.

Earlier today Matt Farah and two of his friends flew from Los Angeles and New York to Atlanta where they would then drive 350 miles to Destin, Florida with one goal in mind, to finally “roll over the odometer on their 1996 Lexus LS 400 past one million and beyond. Well, they did it folks, and in classic TST style, they set up in-car cameras and documented the momentous occasion on camera where, presumably at this very moment, Zack Klapman is editing up, ready to release one of the most epic one-takes of their channel’s history.

If you’re hankering for actual video footage, it looks like someone already uploaded a POV view from Zack’s phone from his Instagram Live story. Check out that video below.

In addition, I’m posting a series of photos from Matt Farah’s Instagram chronicling earlier today as they made their way through Florida.

This drive is taking way longer than expected because @puppyknuckles keeps seeing things. Fingers crossed for a @roadandtrack cover!

In typical The Smoking Tire fashion, everything’s been planned but there obviously was no plan on what to do when the Million Mile Lexus actually approached a million miles. You’d imagine they’d slow to a crawl in some parking lot, pass a million, get out and shake hands,  but oh no. This LS 400 rolled through a million like a total boss without as much as a let off of the throttle.

Perhaps that’s the best way for this car to roll through a million, in such a way that defines what this car is, bulletproof and confident enough on its next trip to another million.

And, you’d think the car community would be over this Lexus’s story as it’s been retold ad nauseam since the project began but no, since the handful of articles announcing the milestone and sending their well wishes have gone out, nary a complaint or peep of negativity about this luxo-barge’s accomplishment.

Matt Farah just hit 1,000,000 miles. from r/cars

The reddit thread on /r/cars announcing this feat of high-mileageness already has 2,000 up-votes and counting.

So, congrats to you Matt, Zack and to everyone that’s contributed to this Lexus’s wonderful history.

As I understand the Lexus is now going to Tavarish where it will probably undergo some forced induction of some sort.
