If you’re wondering the fate of Matt’s Million Mile Lexus, it isn’t forced induction like we all originally thought. It’s getting an OEM restoration

Tavarish confirmed to fans on his Youtube channel earlier last week (May, 16, 2019) that he won’t be throwing a pair of turbos or a supercharger on the Matt’s Million Mile Lexus but, will instead, listen to the will of his fans and restore it to “like-new” factory conditions as best he can.

Check out his video below.

Back in February we saw history, a moment that’s been in the making for years, the exact time when Matt’s 1996 Lexus LS400 rolled over 1,000,000 miles making it officially the highest mileage Lexus LS400 in history.

If you didn’t already know, Matt started that Million Mile Lexus project back in 2014, buying a high-mileage Lexus LS400 with the one goal to see it past a million total miles. In that span of five years, with the help of dozens of people, Matt insured the Lexus for its long journey ahead of it and lent it out as a rental of sorts.

With the final miles driven in Florida, this pretty much confirmed people’s suspicions that Matt would hand it off to Tavarish, which Tavarish confirmed in a previous video. Tavarish bought the Lexus for $1.

Towards the end, he asked input from his fans. Here’s just a handful of comments that rose to the top.

I think you should do an OEM restoration rather than a tune.

NOOOO Buy a different LS400 to modify leave this God of a car alone PLEASE!!!

I rarely comment, however, desperate times calls for desperate measures… Please Do Not Turbo!!!

Definitely no turbo, even Matt’s kinda upset about the idea.

I, too, like the idea of an OEM restoration rather than boosting the LS400, although I’m fairly certain this Lexus LS400 could’ve handled some serious boost.

It was made clear that Tavarish fully intended to boost this LS400 to destruction.

So, there you have it, a happy ending or rather a new beginning awaits this Lexus.

I’ll be curious how they tackle that waterfall of an oil leak underneath. As I recall, previous drivers commented on how often oil needed to be topped off since it’s a leaker.

Are you happy with Tavarish’s decision? Let me know your .02 in the comments below.
