This Lexus IS-F owner decided to put his excess cans of Sapporo Beer to good use and turned them into exhaust tips.

Exhaust tips are nothing more than a bit of rolled metal with maybe a knurled lip and a heat-induced artificial finish. So when Lexus IS-F owner Nam, who goes by @IronNam on Instagram, spied a couple of Sapporo Beer cans lying around his garage, he put them to good use and turned them into the exhaust tips, technically the end of combustion to the legendary 2UR-GSE V8 engine.

Check out the master craftsman at work below.

Stock, the Lexus IS-F has four exhaust tips, two tips jutting out of each exhaust canister on either side of a true-dual exhaust factory setup. Here’s what they look like in their natural ovoid state.

Initially, this is what the exhaust tips looked like before Nam seriously started to put his foot down and drive the thing. As you can see, Sapporo aluminum cans come in a naturally matte silver finish, not too far off from actual exhaust tips.

But, after a couple of heat cycles, as aluminum does, the cans transformed into their current, almost browned, look. Dare I say that, from a distance, they almost have that anodized look that artificial burnt exhaust tips try to copy.

If I’m frank, the tips do stick out quite a bit. Other than that, I absolutely love this DIY idea.

If anything, they act as proximity sensors when backing into a parking space.

Also, I’d be remiss to mention that, in researching Sapporo Beer for this blog post I found out that Sapporo has breweries in Wisconsin. How about that.

What do you think about these unique exhaust tips? Did you know Sapporo has American breweries? Let me know your .02 in the comments below.
