This kid was having the time of his life in his UTV until he rolled over. Thanks to this Dad of the year emphasizing safety, the little tyke walked away without a scratch.

If you need any proof to show to your kids or better half that if you’re going to go all out on a UTV, you’d better put on all the safety gear you can and make sure your UTV is in tip-top shape too. According to Shelby Gilmore and her video she shared on Facebook earlier this weekend (Apr. 10, 2019) she got the shock of her life when her husband shared with her the harrowing moment her baby boy did a 270 in their UTV. Thankfully, this Dad, as mentioned, put safety first with all the correct gear (except maybe for some clothes) and made sure this UTV could handle a full rollover before sending his boy out on some vehicular mischief. UTVs, as the name suggests, are meant for light to serious off-roading depending on how crazy the suspension is and how powerful an engine you have. By the sounds of this video and its size, this one is definitely under 150 CC’s and is meant for romping around the great outdoors without getting into anything too serious.

That being said, in the video, the kid does get into a bit of a scrape. By taking a turn too hard, the laws of physics take over, and over he goes.

But, the little dude’s got on a good helmet, the roll cage is up to snuff, and he’s strapped in correctly. That means, when he did rollover his limbs don’t have a chance to protrude beyond the roll cage and the cage does its job, cage the boy in.

I’m sure Mama bear was pissed off at Papa bear but in this situation, no harm, no foul.

So, the next time your little one wants to get a UTV and if you so oblige, get him a quality one and be sure they’re using all the right safety gear. And maybe show them this video to remind them to take it easy, maybe.
