Imagine you, storing your pride and joy for over two decades, keeping it as a gift, then to have your s**tty grandson refuse it when you bring it up.

This generation of kids just doesn’t get any worse. According to a Craigslist ad that popped up in Fort Wayne, Indiana earlier last week this lovely man took care of this pristine 1991 Eagle Talon TSI AWD for that fateful day when he’d pass it on to his grandson. But according to his Craigslist post, his grandson refused! The nerve!

Check out a screenshot of his post and a couple of photos of his sweet Eagle Talon TSI below.

Eagle Talon TSI

Because this is Craigslist, sometimes we get more information than we bargain for, in this case a bit of family drama. Who knows why this Grandson refused such a rad car.

The listing does provide us with a couple of clues. For one, this Eagle Talon TSI is automatic, first red herring there. Perhaps this grandson wanted, at the very least, to row his own gears and proposed to Pop pop that he could manual swap it. But knowing just how anal retentive Herb is (that’s his name according to the ad) he refused such a request to his red rocket.

Then there’s the assumption that this generation of kids doesn’t understand and appreciate how sweet a ride this is. Maybe all his friends have newer model BMWs, Mercedes, and Dodge Muscle cars and he couldn’t live with the shame of pulling up in something that’s basically a rebadged Mitsubishi.

Doesn’t this kid know that rad cars are back in style? And with 205 HP and 220 lb-ft, this car can still scoot.

As mentioned this is an automatic with the notorious ZF1, known to be quite unreliable for the time rumored to be “made from glass.” Supposedly these are the same transmissions as in the Saab 9000.

Nonetheless, it’s a bit sad that this man and his grandson couldn’t reconcile matters over this sweet ride. Perhaps its all a big miscommunication. Or maybe this ad is a bluff to get his grandson to appreciate it even more.

All I know is that someone’s getting a steal of a deal for $8,400.

What do all y’all think of this bit of Craigslist drama? Is this Eagle Talon TSI AWD overpriced? I sure don’t. Let me know your .02 in the comments below.
