A wild scene played at in Ocean City Maryland earlier today as a squad of police pulling up in their cars detained several H2OI 2019 showgoers for alleged possession of firearms.

Update 6:39 PM: None of the car’s occupants had a gun. Someone called in false threat and police responded accordingly. After a thorough search of the car and occupants, all detained were let go.

We know Maryland for its strict gun laws so when allegedly one showgoer with his group of friends in a stanced out Subaru Impreza flashed a gun at an Ocean City Police officer, they took no shortcuts making sure that person wasn’t a threat.

Thanks to videos and photos from a Facebook group chronicling the events, we have several photos and videos of the touchy situation. Check those out below.

Ocean City Police pulled out all the stops and called in the entire squad to assist. From the photos and videos it looks like over two dozen police and half a dozen vehicles responded to the situation.

In textbook fashion, police asked each person in the Subaru Impreza to step out of the vehicle with their arms raised as they backed towards police.

Most of the people in the Subaru backing towards police didn’t have the most calm expressions on their faces as they took in the situation’s seriousness.

I don’t have to spell out the record with police, guns, and mistaken fatalities this past decades thanks to the wrong moves.

These unconfirmed reports of a gun flashed come from comments where this video was originally posted.

The police’s reaction backs up that alleged story.

As mentioned, gun possession in the state of Maryland is strictly regulated. Although getting a CCW permit is possible, it’s realistically almost impossible to get.

Waving a gun out in public is taken seriously as the video above shows.

This is a developing story and I will update this blog post as information comes in.

Do you have any information to add? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. So much for our constitution the 4th amendment and the look of terror on the occupants of the vehicle is a travesty having too be worried that you’ll be shot down like a animal any second by so-called law enforcement it doesn’t warrant that many units these roving gangs are out of hand and need better training but as the POLICE are more and MORE militarized the friendly interaction with officers are becoming a thing of times gone bye as they see everyone as the enemy and no more innocent civilians it’s a us against them MENTALITY with the end result of everyone loses.

  2. I know this is a little late after this news has been posted.
If a gun threat has been called in that constitutes reasonable search. And if you new the history of the punks that come into town for this h20i you would understand why this action by the police is warranted.
