A Twitter thread sparked an interesting observation, CBS This Morning rolled out a sturdier and stronger chair for Lizzo.

Welcome to one of those blog posts where it’s not about cars and I’m going out on a limb when I say “If it has wheels and moves, I’ll have an opinion on it.” Well, this is one of those blogs.

CBS This Morning got the chance to interview American singer, rapper, and songwriter Lizzo and there was one tiny detail Twitter, like they do, focused on, Lizzo’s chair. It looks like CBS This Morning hooked Lizzo up with a larger and sturdier chair because why wouldn’t they?

Check out her interview including the tweet and a screenshot of their interview area below.

Scrolling through CBS This Morning’s Youtube feed and at least a dozen other guests, it looks like Lizzo’s one of the few, in recent weeks, to get this beefier chair. Clicking on Neil deGrasse Tyson and Cardinal Dolan’s interviews did not reveal the same chair Lizzo’s on despite those two being above average height and/or weight.

Most guests usually sit on the same chairs as the hosts, that same light gray studio chair with chrome armrests.

The swivel chair Lizzo is sitting on is either a heavy duty version of those other chairs or a modified studio chair for a larger guest. The wheels are a big giveaway, these wheels are a lot larger and solid unlike regular plastic caster wheels found on regular studio chairs that are often hollow.

Also, the lack of armrests is more comfortable for a wider guest so they aren’t constricted by unusable armrests on either side.

This is honestly just good due diligence on behalf of CBS. Someone behind the scenes in CBS wants to make sure their guests are, at the very least comfortable and above all else, safe.

Can you imagine the backlash they’d face if a broken chair sent a guest home injured? Worse yet, CBS could be sued for negligence, not taking into account their guest’s accommodations. Lawyers would jump all over that kind of case.

And it’s not like heavy duty chairs are anything special. Amazon is full of office chairs for big and tall people. Amazon prefers to use the term “executive,” AKA chairs truly fit for a boss.

Besides this small detail, Lizzo’s interview is well worth the watch. It’s inspiring, uplifting, and a real triumph hearing her story. It’d be a shame if all you got from that interview is what her chair looked like.

And if you think she’s not aware about her size, trust me, she is and has few qualms about it.
