These New Orleans Hooters waitresses all pitched in and bought their coworker a bike so he doesn’t have to walk.

New Orleans Hooters waitress Kimberly Mendivil shared a heartwarming story on Tik Tok earlier yesterday. Realizing one of their fellow coworkers had to walk to work, upwards of 10 miles each way, Kimberley and her fellow waitresses did something nice and bought their coworker a brand new bike.

Check out the heartwarming story on Tik Tok below.

He walked 10 miles to get to work and almost quit his job. If you can do something nice for someone do it, you never know how it can help. ❤️

Not knowing this man’s story I can only assume he really needs this job if he was willing to huff it 10 miles to work. Walking one or two miles to a job is something millions of people do every day. With the average person trudging along at 3 MPH, walking is often easier than driving and even enjoyable if the weather’s nice.

But 10 miles, boy, that is a different animal altogether. Some quick maths and that’s over three hours of walking. Then to work a full shift and have enough energy to walk 10 miles back, that’s a hardworking man willing to do anything to get the job done.

What these waitresses did is humanity at its best. It looks like they’ve purchased him a cruiser, a comfortable and sturdy option when pedaling. With a bike, his commute is more than halved. Better yet, bicycling is low impact and efficient so he’ll have more energy to get through the workday.

Kimberly’s caption is apt, you don’t have to go super extravagant to make someone’s day. Something as small as a bike can turn someone’s life around, and if friends pitch in, it spreads the love around.

Do you know someone who might need a transportation upgrade from walking to pedaling? Maybe this small vid will steer you in the right direction to make someone’s year.
