It may be a temporary plate but it looks like the Ohio BMV deemed the personalized plates good to go.

Update: 3/19

Ohio resident Brandon Ciriello decided to treat himself to a set of personalized plates and with all the news going around about the coronavirus, he got creative and put in his request for COV1D19, not exactly COVID19, but close enough. Well, several weeks later Brandon took to Facebook to tell all his friends the Ohio BMW gave his personalized plates the green light.

Check out his photos below for the proof.

According to his paperwork, this temp plate is going on a rad 1986 Ford Mustang GT. Brandon posted up celebratory shot with a bottle of beer. Without looking at the photo below, you can already guess what brand of beer it is.

As someone so aptly pointed out, ”  At least we now have an expiration date on this virus…”

As mentioned, it’s up to the BMV to determine if your plates are OK for printing. Generally, vulgar, swear, gang-related, profane, or words that might conjure up some violent response are rejected.

Cinncinnati.com lists hundreds of rejected personalized plates with mild combos like, DOPE AF, IH8 PPLE, and, SND NUDS. You get the picture.

I guess anything coronavirus related is fair game.

And you bet other people have tried a similar combo for their own plates. One bloke in South Africa has COVID19 spelled out correctly on his Audi but he’s in trouble because those plates aren’t even registered for his vehicle. You can read up on that story here.

Regular plates in Ohio only cost $35, a one-time deal. But these personalized plates require an annual renewal fee. When this coronavirus is all cured up, and the novelty wears off, I suspect he’ll move onto regular plates soon after.

Do you think police will want to get close to this Mustang, now?
