This C7 ZR1 is literally the fastest Corvette on planet earth yet this Viper with extra sauce takes the King of the Hill to GappleBees.
Car enthusiast Ryan Lewakowski recently grabbed the keys to his Calvo Motorsports-tuned Dodge Viper with a CM1600 package baked in and started taking on Colorados quickest cars. Earlier this week Ryan shared one of his benchmark roll race videos against a stock 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, literally one of the fastest cars America makes. The amount of power his Viper makes and the distance he puts between him and the “King of the hill” Corvette ZR-1 is amazing.
Before you watch Ryan’s video below, first, watch how a stock ZR1 obliterates European exotics way above its price point. Here’s a ZR1 against a Huracan, a Lamborghini that costs $261,000 compared to the Chevrolet at just $120,000. Look how brutally fast the ZR1 is.
OK, now watch Ryan’s videos.
In the videos above, we can see Ryan’s CM1600 Viper literally pull away from the ZR1 at speeds well above 100 MPH. Ryan’s Viper keeps accelerating presumably to 150 MPH and beyond.
Given a straight enough piece of road and no speed limiter, I’m sure Ryan’s Viper can hit 250 MPH and then some, no problem.
OK, now that you’ve watched both videos, the answer why the Viper takes that ZR1 to Gapplebees is simple, the Viper has more power.
Stock, a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with its S/C 6.2L V8 puts out 755 HP and 715 lb-ft to the crank. On a dyno, you can expect to see around 670 WHP.
Fifth generation Dodge Vipers put out 650 HP and 600 lb-ft from its N/A V10.
According to Calvo Motorsports the CM1600 is a complete motor, transmission, and tuning upgrade that adds forced induction thanks to two 72mm turbos and raises maximum power on race gas to 1600 HP to the wheels. A CM1600 is on another level.
And that’s not even their fastest package. If you’ve got $230,000 burning a hole in your pocket you can get a CM2000 package on your Viper. The turbos are even larger and you’ll obliterate everyone in your city, no problem.
In a straight line there are few cars on the road that can take on a Calvo Motorsports Viper and win.
