She’s driving a Volvo SUV, one of the safest cars in the world, but her safety seat fail is not only cringeworthy, it’s downright dangerous.

You’d think male truckers wouldn’t be concerned with child seat safety, let alone have the expertise to spot bad parenting from a mile away, but this Oregon trucker did. According to Redditor AngelsEuphoria’s video shared on a subreddit with an apt name (embedded below) this Mexican trucker in the city of Gresham, Oregon spotted an irresponsible and clueless Mom driving along in her Volvo XC90 with her months old baby crawling all over the front passenger space of her SUV while the vehicle was in motion.

Check out the unbelievable video worth sending to CPS below.

Mother of the Year award goes to… from r/IdiotsInCars

In the video, we can see this mother has placed her baby in one of the worst places you can place a child seat, in the passenger front seat. It’s unclear if this model-year Volvo has an airbag safety switch you can shut off but, in the unfortunate event of a crash, with her baby in that position, the airbag will come crashing down on her child.

The airbag isn’t the only problem. Even if this lady had her baby secured in the car seat, the front passenger seat does not have latches to secure a car seat as per OEM recommendations.

According to the Car Seat Lady, XC90’s middle row seats all come with three tether anchors, which happens to be the statistically safest place to place a child for maximum safety.

OP further says that,

According to the man who recorded the video, the first time he glanced over at her car, the baby was completely on the dashboard with her face pressed against the windshield.

I hope someone in her community recognizes her, calls her out politely, and shows her how to mount her car seats correctly, drilling into her brain that babies should not roam free while her Volvo is moving.

A body in motion stays in motion until a force acts upon it.

An untethered baby travelling at 40 MPH is still travelling at 40 MPH in the unfortunate event the Volvo stops suddenly. I need not spell out what happens after that.

It is irresponsible to have a child and not educate yourself on child seat safety.

If you know someone in your life who’s having a kid or you’re having one yourself, educate yourself now.

Most local police even have free child safety seat checks and YouTube is filled with informational videos like the one above.
