This is why you install the correct aftermarket parts designed for your chassis instead of making a similar part that’s 90 percent similar, work.

An Infiniti Q70 owner is kicking himself in the head for such a bonehead move that left his car wrecked on the side of the freeway. An Infiniti Q70 owner shared the aftermath of his freeway wreck earlier this week (July 23, 2020) his stanced out luxury sedan totaled due to an aftermarket rear upper control arm failure he initially blamed on Godspeed, the manufacturer.

The internet, being the scrutinizers they are, noticed that the rear upper control arm is still in one piece, indicating the part did not fail, at all. Additionally, the ball joint stud is missing, a sign the part didn’t fail, pointing towards the fastening hardware vibrating loose, which happens when incompatible parts meet with the wrong taper.

Check out screenshots from the frustrated Infiniti Q70 owner below including the best explanation from someone in the know who can explain why his rear upper control arm failed.

If we’re to take what Aldwin Ingunazo is saying as gospel then what this Infiniti Q70 owner did was a major offense. While the Infiniti Q70 might be the predecessor to the Infiniti G35/G37 lineup, engineering differences between the two, however small, can’t be ignored. A change to a different style of tapering in the rear control arms is a major change that shouldn’t be overlooked.

In addition, Godspeed has already wiped their hands clean of any buffoonery car enthusiasts might do with their products once it leaves the store with an “off-road use only” stipulation.

According to GodSpeed, “Parts are intended for racing vehicles which never may be used on public roads.”

This Q70 owner only has himself to blame for installing a wrong part and should issue a public apology to Godspeed for a potentially slanderous statement.
