This home owner will need something larger than a skimmer net to fish out this piece of debris.

Ever seen a Mitsubishi Lancer submerged in water? Well, now you have. Arlington, Texas police report that a drunk driver lost control of his Mitsubishi Lancer earlier yesterday (Aug, 13,2020,) crashed through the backyard of this house in the 3500 block of S. Center Street, and drove straight into the deep end of this S-shaped pool. Photos shared on Twitter show the extent of the damage.

Check them out below.

Despite all the flotsam and the unusual crash circumstance, Arlington police report no one was seriously injured or hurt.

Photos show a late-model Lancer completely submerged in the pool. Floaties, pool cleaning equipment, and a handful of backyard essentials can be seen floating around the car.

Presumably the driver, snapping back to reality surrounded by rushing water, was able to extricate himself from his Lancer, hoisting himself on dry land before realizing how much he’s f***ed up.

If you get a bird’s eye-view of this street, you can make out the pool he drove into.

Presumably, he took this corner at too high a speed and over-steered into this backyard, crashing into the fence before sinking into some of that dingy looking water.

According to Blass Law, DUI penalties in Texas are some of the harshest in the country. If this is his first offense, this driver can expect fines upwards of $2,000 and possible jail time up to six months.

His insurance company’s going to have a field day taking care of the tow costs since a local tow company’s rotator will have to be called in to extract the car from the pool. Also, there’s the matter of this guy’s fence.

And if you’re wondering, yes, Mitsubishi makes Submarines, two kinds, actually. They also make ships, planes, and other sea-faring vessels.

Perhaps this Lancer was doing its best sub impression?
