The real world driving environment has claimed its first new 2023 Acura Integra.
Someone was going to unfortunately wreck the new Integra sooner or later and, a month after the new 2023 Acura Integra went on sale, that day has come. Insurance Auto Auction’s Columbus Ohio branch recently listed a wrecked and burned 2023 Acura Integra A-Spec with Tech package on their main website, the Integra scheduled for auction in the coming days.
The auction listing is linked here and below are most of the photos from said listing.
The rear license plate frame says Lindsay Acura, an Acura dealership (conveniently) in Columbus, OH.
This trim level of Integra MSRP’d for $35,800 which, after mandatory extras, that markup, fees, and taxes, means someone financed north of $40,000 easily.
An anonymous source confirmed to me this Integra crashed somewhere in Oklahoma.
While I’m purely speculating here and don’t know the official story, if you take a look at the close up of the engine bay, whatever this Integra owner drove into formed the core support, radiator, and where the turbo would be into a semi-circle.
It’s almost like they either drove into a pole or tree.
Clearly, something caught fire under the hood (perhaps the turbo with its hard lines filled with hot oil?) rendering everything forward of the aptly named firewall a total loss.
The photos don’t show it but listed as secondary damage is “interior burn” so, presumably lots of the front half of the interior is just a goopy, melted mess of plastic, carpeting, and leatherette.
It’s worth noting, the driver and rear passenger compartment is mostly intact which, from a safety perspective, is good to see.
Despite its extensive damage, someone will buy this heap for all the spare parts. The entire back half, most of the glass, the axle back of its coil type exhaust, all four wheels, at least two tires, and the remote are all salvageable.
How much do you think this wrecked 2023 Acura Integra will go for?
Do you know the actual story of what happened?
