This Dayton, OH lady was caught multitasking, watching The Office while driving.

Presumed Ohio resident and Redditor /u/csmccarty posted personal smartphone footage from Dayton, OH earlier yesterday (Dec. 10, 2023) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a woman driving next to them while watching an episode of “The Office.”

Check out her video below.

In OP’s video, we can see OP driving along a typical two-lane Dayton street.

“I was driving home with my wife last night after a work party, and saw this selfish t**t in the left lane next to me. She was driving 10mph under the speed limit, so while I was slowing down to let her catch up, I told my wife to pull out her phone and record because I’ve never seen someone being so brazenly stupid. “

The offending lady pulls next to OP, and it’s clear she’s watching an episode of “The Office,” her phone in landscape mode, while she occasionally looks up to drive.

It’s hard to make out, but even casual watchers of The Office can make out the show’s iconic office setting.

Jim or maybe Dwight from The Office.

“She’s watching a TV show, while driving. Are you kidding me,” OP’s wife exclaims.

“I was planning to say something to her at the next red light, but unfortunately, she turned into a neighborhood around 10 seconds after this video ended. I thought about honking, but didn’t want to startle this idiot and have her slam into us.”

In Ohio, distracted driving while using your phone is subject to at least two points on your license and a $150 fine for first time offenders.

Those fines can go as high as $1,000 for repeat offenders, not to mention a maximum of four points and up to a 90-day license suspension.

“This is why it’s so important to keep your video playing device in the center of the dash so you can keep one eye on the road,” /u/Ninjamuh sarcastically added.

“How can anything be this important,” /u/duckdns84 comments what we’re all thinking.

While Dayton, OH might not be as visually stimulating as larger cities, it’s no excuse to justify doing something else to stimulate your brain in such a way as to take your attention off the road.

Here’s what Dayton looks like from above if you’re wondering.

It’s worth repeating, but driving requires your utmost attention at all times while you’re behind the wheel, no ifs, ands, or buts.
