Understeer: verb 1. See video.

Presumed Knoxville resident and Redditor /u/WillowxBranch shared dashcam footage from yesterday (Dec 13, 2023) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing the facepalm moment a road raging driver in a Dodge Charger attempts to overtake /u/WillowxBranch by going around her at a turn but ends up crashing instead.

Check out OP’s video below.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Mountain Grove Dr. and SR 168 in Knoxville, TN (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As to what sparked this risky maneuver, according to OP,

“I merged in front of this driver 12 miles prior. She proceeded to follow me, tailgate me the entire time while swerving and flipping me off.”

As OP’s video shows, the woman in the Charger swings wide into the non-turning, adjacent lane in her bid to overtake OP in the middle of a turn.

She then finds out why people refer to Chargers and Challengers as boats, or their inability to turn like a sports car at high speeds.

We see the Charger hit what looks like a bit of dirt and sand in the middle of the road and understeers ( loses front turning grip, causing the Charger to stop turning and instead go straight) straight into a Ford truck towing some motorcycles.

“Everyone was ok, cars not so much.

The driver in the truck was actually ok overall. A little back pain but nothing major. He had his dog with him and thankfully dog is all good as well.”

OP notes that the guy in the Ford truck’s had a bit of a bad luck streak himself.

“Poor guy she hit said someone hit his truck two days ago, talk about bad luck.”

OP concludes that the driver of the truck and local police have her dashcam video and a statement.

Honestly, it looks like OP did everything right in this scary situation.

As far as her statements, she didn’t further instigate the road rager and actively tried to avoid any further confrontation.

Hopefully this is a wake-up call for that woman in the Charger.

Also, here’s another reminder to get yourself a dashcam, too.
