When crazy meets crazy, or why you shouldn’t cut in line at Costco gas.

An argument at a Costco Gas station from earlier in late December in Everett, WA got out of hand when an alleged line cutter got a collapsible baton out of his trunk, at which point the confronter whipped out his gun in self-defense.

The incident was filmed from a parking lot next to the station, the video making the rounds on social media.

It appears the video was originally posted by Reddit user /u/FincherFan on the /r/Costco subreddit.

Check out it posted on Reddit below (just in case that one’s down, there’s a mirror here and here.)

Someone cut in line and the guy pulled out his gun. ⛽️

The video starts out with supposedly someone in line at this Costco gas station confronting an alleged line cutter.

“Look at all of those people over there, you took there…what makes you think that..,” you can hear the confronter say to the line cutter coming out of his Impala.

“You know, bring your level down and not get in my face about that. Listen to me buddy, don’t come running up on my car and yelling at me like that,” we here the alleged line cutter reply.

“Then don’t take cuts!”

The line cutter walks to the back of his Impala, opens his trunk and retrieves what looks like a retractable police-type baton.

From the camera’s POV, we can see the confronter is open carrying, although it’s not clear if the guy in the Impala is aware of that.

The line cutter whips out his telescoping baton, at which point the confronter draws his gun.

“Oh s***. You ran up on me, my guy.”

“Put.It.Down.”

“You need to back away. You need to back away, my guy.”

At this point, the video ends, and we don’t really know what happens next, as the supposed OP didn’t reply with his own comments.

That being said, @Seattle.looks.like.shxt on Instagram posted up a follow-up in their caption on their re-upload, although I can’t confirm if this is what actually happened.

“Luckily they separated and no one was injured,”

“Costco gas attendant bounced right tf out of there.I’m not dying for this!,” /u/Kent556 commented.

“Love the “whooo s**t” when the dude realizes he brought a baton to a gun fight,” /u/Loading_scr33n replied.

“If you feel comfortable enough to reopen your car door, pop the trunk, calmly walk to the back of the vehicle and grab a weapon, you’re definitely the one escalating the situation. Dudes been listening to too much Yelawolf,” /u/DejaThuVu hilariously added.

This is the Yelawolf music incident he’s referring to, if you’re wondering.

It’s worth noting that, in Washington, it’s legal to carry collapsible batons, as long as you’re not carrying it out in the open.

And, in regard to the man pulling his gun, another Redditor pointed out that whipping out your open carry is considered not brandishing if you’re doing it in self-defense.

Regardless of who was in the right or wrong, things should not get this heated at gas stations.

Don’t cut in line!

And, if you do find someone that did, my official advice is to not confront them.

Even if you’re packing heat, you don’t know if the other guy also is carrying, or worse.
