Showboating resulted in him ruining what’s likely a six figure American supercar.
Redditor /u/FrenchFriesPanckes posted up smartphone footage to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing someone in Sioux City, IA at the Warrior Hotel filming a driver in a Dodge Viper on the street below.
After egging on the driver, he captures the hare brained moment when the Viper drive loses control and slams into an SUV.
Check out the video below.

The incident happened in the 600 Block of Nebraska St. in front of First Presbyterian Church (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As you can see in the video, the filmer is standing on a balcony of The Warrior Hotel.
Down below, he can see a driver in a Dodge Viper leaving his parking spot.
Naturally, this dude is egging on the Viper driver.
It’s Sioux City just before sunset, how exciting can it get?
“No balls. No BALLS!,” the filmer shouts.
“He’s going to hit that Prius,” you can hear his friend say (It’s really a Corolla.)
He might’ve hit the Corolla, and it foreshadows what happens next.
It sounds like the Viper driver just taps his accelerator exiting his parking spot, but that was enough for him to break traction and swing wide.
Unfortunately, he also lost control, did not have enough front steering grip to correct causing him to T-bone a Honda Pilot on the other side of the street.
The damage? It’s bad.
According to comments and Classic.com, this is a 4th gen Viper (2008-2010) which has an average market price of around $101,000.
In my opinion, this doesn’t look like $100,000 worth of damage, but it’s going to need significant body work and perhaps major tweaking of the frame to make it right again.
The purple Honda Pilot faired a lot better, taking the brunt of the hit on its rear quarter panel, but, who knows, that might be enough to total it too.
Regardless, that Viper driver surely regrets his decision.
Vipers have a reputation for twitchy handling, and this is a clear example of that.
Then again, this is par for the course for many Viper drivers.
“It takes a special kind of idiot to even attempt that in a Viper of all cars.,” /u/Xa_Is_Here commented.
“Of all cars to do that in you choose a viper, trying to flex to people who would forget about you in 5 mins. Now another viper is likely gone,” /y/Zalcean added.
“Launching a Dodge Viper is going to end this way unless you’re a professional driver. What a moron,” /u/tacobellbanded replied.
On the bright side, no one looked to be seriously injured.
But what an insurance headache that’ll be.
