Floresville residents allegedly say she habitually drives the wrong way down this one-way street, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.

Floresville resident and Redditor /u/Beaker90 shared frustrating dashcam footage from Floresville from the tail end of July (July 30, 2024) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing what she later learned was a habitual wrong-way driver going the wrong way down historic C. St.

Check out /u/beaker90’s dashcam footage below.

The incident happened in the 1000 block of C. St. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As this screenshot of the other end of C. St. and comments from OP say, like any one-way street, there’s signage prohibiting cars from entering the wrong way.

“At the spot where she entered the road (assuming she didn’t weirdly back out of a parking spot), there is a “Do Not Enter” sign and the intersecting road has signs signaling no turning onto this street….The police department is also right there.”

Signage before entering this one-way street in Floresville.

As her dashcam video shows, she enters C. St. going the correct way and comes bumper to bumper with a driver in a white Toyota Corolla going the wrong way.

“This woman is driving the wrong way down a one-way and tried to signal me to move out of her way. I was signaling back that she needed to turn around. She looked pissed off that I wasn’t moving out of her way,” OP explains.

“You need to f***ing turn around,” we hear OP say.”It’s a one-way street. It’s one way. It’s a way street dumba** I’m not getting out of your f***ing way,” we can hear her say.

Instead, OP doesn’t drive forward and lets the other driver take the lead.

Eventually, the driver in the white Corolla scoots around OP, again, headed in the wrong direction.

This is not the first time this driver’s been spotted pulling off this illegal driving maneuver.

“I also posted the video to NextDoor and was told that other people have come across this same person doing this before. So, she’s not new to the area or confused. She knows exactly what she’s doing!,” OP comments.

In some parts of Texas, driving the wrong way down a one-way street is a moving violation subject to a base fine of at least $280.

“Good job standing your ground. Don’t make it easy for the idiots,” /u/Greenstuph commented.

“They never seem to grasp that it’s One Way and they are going the wrong way. If I have time I like to sit there and wait and make them do it the correct way. But I usually don’t have the time,” /u/newUseMe added.

Driving the wrong way down a one-way street, as this video shows, increases the risks of a head-on collision.

In addition, driving the wrong way may cause confusion and panic with other drivers, can cause a hazard to pedestrians accustomed to cars going a certain direction, and can disrupts normal traffic flow.

This might slide in a small town like Floresville (population 8,050 as of 2022) but, in other larger, busier cities, this can be downright dangerous.

Hopefully, Floresville PD observes her buffoonery sooner rather than later before she causes an accident.
