Not only did this Ram 1500 driver ignore a traffic control device, he recklessly did it without signaling, too.
Floridian and Redditor /u/JHawk1969 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier this week (Sept 17, 2024) from Tampa, FL to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver in a high-powered Ram 1500 TRX ignoring a raised center median by driving over it to make a right turn from a marked left-hand lane.
Check out his dashcam footage of what happened below.

The incident happened at the intersection of E Jackson St. and N Meridian Ave in Tampa, FL (Exact location on Google Maps linked here and screenshot below.)
As OP’s dashcam footage shows, he’s stopped on E Jackson St waiting for traffic to move.
Suddenly, as traffic starts to move as they have the green light, a driver in a light blue Ram 1500 TRX drives over the center median, cutting off a driver attempting to drive forward.
Equipped with heavy-duty, off-road suspension and tires, this truck is sort of engineered for these types of maneuvers (specs linked here.)
As the screenshot shows above, three left-turn lanes and one right-turn lane are bisected by a low but raised center median.
This TRX driver was in a left turn lane and then drove over a center median, recklessly in front of another vehicle, to make a right turn.
As pointed out by /u/Campandfish1, there was a recent study showing Ram Truck drivers specifically are the worst on the road.
“How the he** was he supposed to know he couldn’t turn right from the left lane? It ought to be marked or have some manner of divider if it’s a big deal,” /u/HalfastEddie sarcastically commented.
“This falls under the most infuriating type of idiot driver because they didn’t plan, and they’re willing to risk others’ safety rather than slightly inconvenience themselves by circling the block or turning around,” /u/lowfreq33 pointed out.
“Not discounting the fact that the driver is indeed an idiot, but I have definitely thought of doing something similar before,” /u/AscendantArtichoke admitted.
“Being somewhere new for the first time with over-complicated infrastructure can really bring out the intrusive thoughts.”
Don’t get me wrong, this move is arguably cool as heck.
Regardless, it’s against Tampa’s traffic code, if not all traffic codes, to pull off.
It’s also just plain dangerous the way he did it, in front of other traffic, not even signaling.
Disregarding traffic control devices in Florida is subject to a fine of up to $300 and three points on your driving record.
