An employee of NOVUS Glass of Cheyenne was caught on dashcam going 115 MPH on I-80 in a customer’s car.
Update: 10/28/2024 – The Supra owner has since deleted all Reddit threads and YouTube uploads of his dashcam footage. I’ll keep you all updated on any developments if they arise.
A presumed Cheyenne resident, Redditor, and 2023 Toyota Supra owner who goes by /u/lilengineer95 and @backroadsB58 on social media shared dashcam footage to Reddit and Youtube showing an employee of NOVUS Glass of Cheyenne taking his Supra for a joyride reaching speeds up to 115 MPH on I-80.
Check out his thread linked here and his video posted on Youtube linked here.
Glass Repair Shop Takes Supra on 115mph run

According to OP, he came to NOVUS Glass of Cheyenne to get the windshield on his 2023 Toyota Supra replaced.
“Normally I do all the work myself but when it comes to glass and transmission work, I leave that to the professionals.”
What’s shared is the dashcam footage taken after his windshield was replaced.
“I have a hardwire kit on the dashcam, so when I dropped the car off, I just left it dangling. He (the NOVUS employee) actually took the time to remove the mount from the old windshield and put it on the new and reinstall the dash cam. Only to immediately do this. It was powered all throughout the repair.”
In the dashcam video, we can see the NOVUS employee taking the customer’s Supra in and around Cheyenne including at least two high-speed runs on I-80 both times eclipsing 100+ MPH and, at one point, supposedly hitting 115 MPH.
“Man, this thing’s f***ing squirrely, bro. Man, it does 115 so easily, dude. It just f***ing floats,” the NOVUS employee says as he drives.
The legal speed limit on this portion of I-80 is 75 MPH, so this employee was going 1.5X that.
Thankfully, the employee doesn’t damage the customer’s Supra in any way nor does he get into an accident.
As you can imagine, OP was upset at finding this out and confronted the owner of NOVUS Glass of Cheyenne about how they’d work this all out.
OP says he the owner was, at first, willing to offer OP some of their services as an apology of sorts and to smooth things over.
“The owner initially offered to work with me but when I took him up on his offer, his tone changed…”
“Honestly, I wasn’t asking for much. It’s not like I was asking to become the Oprah Winfrey of windshields. Just window tints and for my windshield to get replaced on my truck, as well as some other services they provided like windshield wipers and rain-x coating. (And maybe some extra vouchers for the future).
“He immediately refused, and stated he didn’t actually owe me anything and that I was extorting him and he would just remove any negative reviews, which I hadn’t even posted.”
As it stands, it looks like OP and the owner of NOVUS Glass of Cheyenne did not come to any sort of agreement.
And, OP hasn’t stated if he’ll press charges.
For now, it looks like, as he said, “we’ll trade a headache for a headache” opting to get as much exposure and social media awareness out of his situation as possible.
According to the Wyoming Statutes, as it pertains to Motor Vehicles, OP might have a case, as the NOVUS Glass of Cheyenne Employee may have violated Section 31-11-102 – Unauthorized Use of Vehicle which states,
“Any person who without specific authority of the owner…drives a vehicle, the property of another, for the purpose of temporarily making use of the vehicle is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than one (1) year, a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00), or both.”
Those who’ve come across OP’s story are taking his call to action to heart, posting negative reviews on Google Reviews and Yelp, ripping NOVUS Glass of Cheyenne for their employee’s actions.
I think you know what to do.
Until some sort of retribution is paid forward by the owner, let’s make NOVUS Glass of Cheyenne famous, y’all.
Maybe send an e-mail Corporate’s way letting them know about one of their shops.
