This bright blue Honda Civic Type R driver passed traffic over a double solid yellow line, then blocked an intersection when pulled over.

Presumed Pennsylvanian and Redditor /u/-StalkedByDeath- shared headshaking dashcam footage from Lansdale earlier this November (Nov 15, 2024) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver in a blue Honda Civic Hatchback overtaking traffic across a double solid yellow line.

When pulled over, they stopped in front of an intersection, blocking through traffic, too.

Check out /u/-StalkedByDeath-‘s dashcam footage below.

The incident happened along the 3100 Block of Pennsylvania Route 73 in Lansdale (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam footage shows, a driver in a blue Honda Civic Hatch can be seen overtaking across double solid yellow lines close to the Meadowood Senior Living Center.

In Pennsylvania and contrary to popular belief, except for a few, specific instances like turning into a driveway, you cannot cross double solid yellow lines to overtake a vehicle.

According to PennDot,

“A double, solid yellow centerline shows the center of a two-way road. Even if it is not marked with a NO PASSING sign, passing by traffic traveling in either direction is not allowed on roads marked in this manner.”

Unfortunately for that driver, a Pennsylvania State Police officer saw it all play out and, close to a mile later, pulled him over.

To make matters worse, he stopped in front of an intersection potentially obstructing oncoming traffic.

It’s illegal to block traffic in such a manner on Pennsylvania roads, however, I don’t think that driver did it maliciously or on purpose.

Like most states, in Pennsylvania, it’s illegal to block highways, railroad tracks, sidewalks, and etc.

“The idiot pulled over in a terrible spot. He’s completely blocking that intersection when he could’ve just pulled down that dead-end street 50 yards where it would be safe for the cop to exit his vehicle. This is the kind of thing that guarantees you a ticket versus maybe getting a warning,” /u/PotatoDrives commented.

“The best part of this is the perfect place to pull over was like 30 feet before where he actually came to a stop,” /u/*umguzzlerxtreme added.

This driver probably’s gone for a good chunk of his driving career carrying out all these bad, and potentially dangerous driving habits.

Hopefully, their citation is part of a larger wake-up call that you can’t drive with such self-absorbed behavior.
