This reckless driver showed no signs of slowing even with a yellow light.

Cumming, GA commuter and Reddito r /u/ineed1billiondollars shared shocking dashcam footage from earlier last week (Jan 23, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a reckless Nissan Altima driver blowing through an intersection and T-boning a left turner as a result.

Check out /u/ineed1billiondollars’s dashcam footage and Reddit thread embedded below.

The incident happened at the intersection of GA-141 and Majors Rd. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here. )

As /u/ineed1billiondollars’s dashcam footage shows, he’s driving in the left lane of GA-141 towards the aforementioned intersection.

A driver in a black Nissan Altima in front of OP can be seen approaching the intersection with a yellow light, and instead of slowing to come to a complete stop, the driver risks it and accelerates forward.

Unfortunately, a left-turning driver in a Jeep Wrangler facing what looks like a “Left turn yield on flashing yellow arrow” sign, enters the intersection without first yielding properly.

Here’s the sign the Wrangler driver failed to heed correctly.

The sign the driver in the Wrangler was facing.

The Altima ends up t-boning the Wrangler, totaling his car and potentially the Jeep, too.

A cop in a police cruiser nearby, perhaps seeing it all play out, turns on their blues and tunes and responds to the scene of the accident.

OP, exclaiming before, during, and after the collision, does his best to scoot around the accident.

OP confirms he clipped the collision video and e-mailed it to the relevant police department.

“Well, at least the cop saw it happen (and dashcam). No pretending the light was green,” the top-rated comment from /u/purplelessporpoise read.

“Both at fault. Jeep turned in front of a car, and the Nissan ran the red,” a controversial but arguably factual comment from /u/SuperHooligan points out.

“I know it’s been commented but I have to say that convenient cop was VERY convenient,” /u/Late-Ad-4624 added.

While the driver in the Altima is guilty of running a red, the chance to avoid an accident fell on both parties.

This is one of those unfortunate examples highlighting how defensive driving goes both ways and how we drive affects everyone in your immediate area.

Being ignorant of traffic laws, risking that other drivers will follow suit, sets yourself up for disaster, or in this case, a literal collision course.
