Thanks to an open lane, this Dodge Challenger driver on the 91 probably will never know they almost collided with this dashcam owner.

FL-91 commuter and Redditor /u/Good-Card shared headshaking dashcam footage from the 91 from earlier last week (February 20, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing an inattentive driver in a Dodge Challenger making a no-look lane change directly into the path of /u/Good-Card.

Thanks to OP’s defensive driving, he was able to avoid a collision easily.

Check out their dashcam footage below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened on the Florida Turnpike (SR-91) smack dab in the middle of Plantation (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As OP’s dashcam footage shows, he’s driving in Lane number 2 of this 5-lane highway.

OP begins to pass slower-moving traffic and as he comes along this driver in a white Dodge Challenger, he notices they start to drift into his lane – he’s changing lanes (and without his blinker either!)

Thankfully, there’s no one besides OP so he easily drifts into the fast lane to avoid a collision.

If he hadn’t been paying attention, the Challenger would’ve easily hit him.

“Well that’s what your horn is for!,” /u/Saucetheb0ss commented.

“Trust me I would have laid on that thing but it all happened so fast,” OP replied.

“Great job of knowing you could steer to the left lane Good-Card!,” /u/leebobeel complimented OP.

At least one commenter pointed out he was going too fast, to which OP and others replied that, as the video shows, he was going at the speed of traffic.

This is arguably an improper lane change, violators in Florida are subject to a fine of between $65-$300 depending on the circumstances, points on your record, and increased insurance premiums.
